Our state-of-the-art animal facility spans 25,000 square feet, having double corridor system (Clean and dirty), meticulously designed with modern laboratories housing cutting-edge instruments aligned with the latest scientific advancements. Our top priority is the welfare and health of our animal models, reflected in our detailed health monitoring records. Registered with the Committee for the Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CCSEA) under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, our facility adheres to stringent standards (Registration number: 2050/PO/RcNRcBt/S/19/CCSEA). All activities strictly follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and statutory requirements.
Our animal housing facilities are meticulously crafted to accommodate different species, meeting CCSEA guidelines. Environmental conditions are rigorously controlled, maintaining temperature (22 ± 1°C), humidity (45-55%), light-dark cycle (12:12 hr), and air changes (12- 15 per hour) with 100% fresh air circulation.
Hygiene is paramount, with regular cleaning, sterilization of cages, water bottles, bedding, and feed. Animal rooms undergo frequent disinfection, with all personnel mandated to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling animals. A robust health
surveillance program ensures the quality of incoming animals, with quarantining protocols to minimize infection risks. Qualified veterinarian oversees animal health, providing necessary care and ensuring healthy animals for research. Our facility boasts a necropsy room, perfusion room with a hood, deep freezer for carcass storage, and an incinerator for disposal.
Animal facility is equipped with a card reader system restricting access to authorized personnel only. Closed-circuit cameras enhance monitoring throughout the facility, maintaining a secure and controlled environment.
